I designed a range of marketing materials for Kent Sport at the University of Kent. This included a brochure and flyers to promote their revamped sports facilities. They also asked me to design materials for two other events. One was the opening of their new cafe. I designed a leaflet, menu, a vinyl poster and social media banners. The other event was their ‘Sporting Legends’ celebration. I designed a flyer, two brochures, an invitation, exhibition boards and graphics for a carrier bag.

They first contracted me to design the brochure, required in time for the start of the new term. It needed to adhere to their corporate design guidelines.

The brochure contains different sections for students, staff, alumni and the public. Each section has the relevant information and membership options for these readers. I colour-coded each section to make this clearer. For the photography, I chose to use one strong ‘hero’ image per page, rather than several smaller images. This was to stop the pages looking too cluttered. I converted the images to black and white, to make the brochure look more sophisticated. The heading and text overlap with the images to create some interest.

I expanded this design across the other materials, using the same black and white photography and colour treatment for the text.
